Splicing & Repairing your SILTSHIELD

The method of accomplishing either Repairs or Splicing involves very similar procedures. The following directions will assist in either of these requirements.
Splicing SILTSHIELD is achieved beginning with an overlap of minimum of 8" of the SILTSHIELD ends secured with six of our plastic ratchet rivet push-in fasteners. Locate three, evenly spaced, vertically, at least 2" in from each edge of the splice. (Figure A)
SILTSHIELD has highly resilient Properties but under some conditions certain abuse can result in damage that will require repair.
Using sharp knife cut away the damaged portion of SILTSHIELD material from the top to bottom. (Figure B)

Next, measure and cut a repair strip that will extend at least 8" either side of the hole left by the removal of the damaged fence. (Figure C)

Orient this strip on the street side of the SILTSHIELD face centered over the repair opening. Secure each edge of repair strip with six of our ratchet rivets evenly spaced vertically at least 2" in from each edge of the repair strip. (figure D)
